Well it took me 45 years but I am finally on American soil. I could cry! Still 6 hours to go until I get to New York but I had a great flight, met lots of interesting people and made new friends. Sat next to some BMX biker dudes off to Longbeach to do some biker filming. They kept me entertained with all their 'dude' stories. I think the next flight is going to be a struggle. I'm so wired, there will be no sleep. Bought my first US chocolate bar for the flight. A 'Godiva' .... Any good? Gee the serving sizes of everything over here are enormous. I got scared and bought a banana for breakfast.
Boarding now! See you in New York! Seriously beyond exciting!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy A-M! You will have a blast. American meal sizes are absolutely enormous. Didn't find them as big in New York as the rest of the country though. American chocolate isn't very nice. Even our basic Dairy Milk is better IMO. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Very jealous.

Had a chuckle about your chocolate bar buying! When we were in Europe, back when you only got 33p for our poor $AUS, we practically lived on chocolate as it seemed to be the only thing cheaper than what it was back home. In the end we were rating our enjoyment of a country based on its chocolate. Naturally Switzerland got the big thumbs up! I tried a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup the other day ... meh! Tasted better ... apparently you get them from Costco here in Australia. Don't suppose you could roadtest a "twinky" for me? The name of them always used to crack me up in US tv shows. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo excited and happy for you! But, it doesn't stop me feeling slightly jealous... ;-P. Have a ball and shop up a storm! Two words: Woodbury Common. Only Chanel outlet store in the world. Truth to tell. xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome A-M. Enjoy your time here!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you - enjoy your stay! xxx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations A-M,
ReplyDelete"The Rosella has landed" eagle just didn't sound right and wanted to use an Australian bird.
The rosella is you to a "T" colourful, vibrant, full of life, never dull, full of great stories and never sits still for a minute.
Looking forward to hearing many of your stories.
Little tip when eating out, starters and what we call a entree, and mains are what the USA call the entree. I always found a starter was plenty big enough.
So excited for you.
Enjoy every dam moment.
Travel safe and well.
Warm wishes,
Daryl
